Hello again! And I am back with a review.

Around a month back, I bought two different body lotions. One from Amazon and one from my nearby supermarket. I am using both these lotions alternatively till date, to see how well they work for me. After using both these products for some time now, I am going to review one of them and tell you about my experience with it. The product I am talking about is Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion.

Vaseline does not need any introduction. It has been in the market for a very long time. A trusted brand, their petroleum jelly, several body lotions and lip care range are quite popular. Vaseline products are particularly known for their hydration and moisturizing quality while also helping heal dry, cracked and chapped skin. Hence I didn’t hesitate even for a minute before buying this body lotion when I saw it on the shelf. To know more about the product and how well it worked for me, well, just keep reading further.

About Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion

Let me first start about the exterior or packaging of the product, before I go to the real deal. The Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion, 200 ml that I purchased has a hard plastic, yellowish colored, elongated, rectangular shaped look. Like most other products, this product too features a flip-cap opening. The front side of the container mentions ‘Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore’ in big visible font. Below it, the sentence ‘clinically proven to restore dry skin’ catches your eye. Besides this, phrases and words like ‘with micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly’, ‘light’, ‘rich’ and ‘non-greasy lotion’ are also mentioned in smaller fonts.

On turning the container, you find a whole lot of information mentioned there. Some of the noteworthy lines being the features/benefits of the product and the ingredient list. The body lotion is claimed to be ‘deeply moisturizing to restore dry skin’, and that it ‘triples skin’s moisture level’ and ‘absorbs fast for a non-greasy feel’.

Ingredients mentioned in the product are:

Water, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Avena Sativa (Oat) Straw Extract, Sodium Cetostearyl Sulphate, Glyceryl Stearate, Paraffin, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Methyl Paraben, DMDM Hydantoin, Propyl Paraben, Simethicone, Disodium EDTA, Soyabean Oil, BHT, Perfume, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool.

My Review

I bought Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion (buy it here)  at a supermarket near me. The cost of the product for 200 ml was Rs. 130/-, which I think is pretty reasonable when compared to other known brands and the quantity specified. If you want a bigger or small container, then you can get it too. This product comes in varied quantities - 100 ml, 200 ml, 300 ml and 400 ml, so you can make your pick.

With respect to the packaging of the product, I would simply say that it is travel-friendly (can be kept in your hand bag or travel bag easily) and comes with a tight-flip cap that prevents the lotion from oozing out. So no hygiene or spillage problems here.

On opening the flip-cap and slightly squeezing the container, a white colored lotion comes out of it. The consistency of the lotion is slightly thick but it can be easily spread on your skin. The fragrance of this lotion is mild but very pleasant. The smell lingers for a few minutes post-application. After that it diminishes, unless you keep sniffing your skin at regular intervals to check the fragrance😏.

What I also found regarding the lotion, is that you require only a little quantity for application and it is enough to moisture your preferred skin area. The lotion on application also did not feel sticky or gave out a greasy feeling. The skin in fact felt super hydrated and well moisturized. No trace of dryness whatsoever. You also do not feel the need to re-apply it a second time, as the skin feels nourished and soft, after just one application.

However, there are two observations that I need to mention here. For the lotion to get completely absorbed into the skin, you need to rub and massage it for a minute. Let the lotion completely sink into your skin, to feel the wonderful moisturized effect on your skin. Also, remember to wash your palms after applying the lotion, as it might give you a warm greasy feel. Surprisingly, I did not feel greasiness on hands or legs post application of the lotion. Don't know why the palms felt like that.😕

To sum it up, if you have extremely dry skin, dry skin, unhealthy looking flaky skin or it is winter in the region you are living in, then look no further than this lotion. Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion is really that good in keep your skin supple, well-moisturized and healthy looking. Also, this body lotion is easily available. You can purchase it from your nearest supermarket, beauty store or at a discounted price at Amazon.

On the contrary, if it is summer time or the weather is warm and humid, then this lotion might be a bit heavy for use. Also not to forget, this product does not mention anything about sun protection or SPF content. So if you are looking for a body lotion that claims of UV protection, then look for something else.

My Ratings

I would go with 4.7/5 👍👍for this product and that is simply because it does what it claims. Am I going to buy this lotion again? Definitely yes. But in another two months, when the winter actually sets in at my place.
